Introduction

The Credit Limit project was initiated to enhance the platform's ability to manage financial control and approval processes. The project introduces new features to streamline client credit limit management,, and improve decision-making for Business Directors (BDs) and CFOs.

Challenges

  1. Financial Approval Limitations: The previous system lacked automated features for managing client credit limits, resulting in manual tracking and reduced efficiency.

  2. User Permissions: There were no defined roles or privileges for controlling or overriding credit limits, making user management cumbersome and less secure.

  3. Maintaining Financial Oversight: Ensuring robust checks and balances in managing credit limits without impacting the approval workflow.

  4. User Notifications and Reporting: Implementing timely notifications for key stakeholders (BDs and CFOs) and providing comprehensive financial reporting.

Solution

  1. New Features Added:

    • Added functionality for assigning responsibility through a Business Director (BD) dropdown in the Master Client Screen.

    • Introduced user privileges for managing credit limits:

    • Automated email alerts to notify BDs and CFOs when their action is required.

  2. Improved Transparency and Control:

    • Enabled better financial decision-making by integrating credit eligibility notifications and approval workflows.

  3. Modernized Reporting:

    • Dashboard for visualizing client credit statuses, tracking overrides, and downloading reports in real time.

My Role

  1. Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinated with Business Directors, CFOs, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and validate solutions.

  2. Requirement Definition: Defined and documented user stories and acceptance criteria (ACs) to ensure clarity and focus.

  3. Sprint Management: Facilitated Agile sprints to deliver features iteratively and ensure quality.

  4. Team Coordination:

    • Led a cross-functional team of:

      • 1 front-end engineers

      • 2back-end engineers

      • 1 designer
